Our contribution to sustainability
Alongside our aim of offering customers high-quality products for modern, individual interior design, it is a matter of course for us to take on responsibility for people and the environment as part of our everyday activities. We have thus been certified in accordance with both PEFC™ and FSC® for many years. This guarantees that the wood used for our products comes from sustainably managed forests. We also contribute towards saving the rainforests with our Kovalex® decking boards, as they represent a real alternative to tropical wood.
The PEFC™ seal
PEFC™ is a transparent and independent system to ensure sustainable forest management and thus a worldwide “forest TÜV”. PEFC™ is the abbreviation for “Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes”.
Forest certification according to the PEFC™ standards is based on the very strict guidelines for sustainable forest management. This management is controlled by professional and independent organisations. If a wooden product bears the PEFC™ seal, it means: The entire product manufacture – from the raw material to the ready-to-use end product – is certified and is inspected by independent experts. Your decision to choose a product with the PEFC™ seal is thus a good thing for the forest!

The FSC® seal
The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. The FSC® is supported worldwide by environmental organisations, trade unions, interest groups for indigenous peoples and many companies from the forestry and timber industry, and is open to anyone who has an interest in the world’s forests. The FSC® aims to contribute towards improving forest management worldwide. The FSC® sees itself here as a platform on which representatives with different interests in the forest come together and can come to a consensus about responsible forest management. Based on this consensus, management standards are developed and mechanisms are derived for the marketing of correspondingly produced forest products. The most important instrument for marketing corresponding products is the labelling of the products with the FSC® label.
